Google Blockly

Blockly Games is a Google project that seeks to use drag-and-drop block based coding to highlight various coding concepts. We also like its progressive nature that starts off with simple concepts but gets challenging quickly.



Scratch uses a similar drag-and-drop coding interface with an iconic cat mascot. Scratch is open-ended with no tasks or games like Google's Blockly Games. Scratch's lack of tasks encourages creative expression but trades off the rigor required for developing solid understanding in coding concepts.



Interested in something more serious? Try out the free Python courses from many reputable universities globally on Coursera. While these courses are great for rigor and learning, they can often be dry and boring, especially for children.
